[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Na Kyung-won, former member of the People Power Party and candidate for Seoul mayor, raised her voice saying, "Seoul needs a mayor who speaks up to China," and "I will become a confident mayor who speaks out."

On the morning of the 19th, Na said on Facebook, "If I become the mayor of Seoul, I will be a confident mayor who speaks up to China."

She showed support for YouTuber Hamji, who was expelled from a Chinese agency after liking a comment stating "Kimchi is Korean food," criticizing the agency's response as a kind of "cultural retaliation" that does not fit the global era.

She continued, "China's trade retaliation and cultural retaliation have continued since the deployment of THAAD. Even before that, the Northeast Project had already begun, and the Kimchi Project is carried out as an extension of it. On top of that, there is the suffering caused by fine dust," adding, "A mayor of Seoul who speaks up to China is absolutely necessary."

Na said, "Currently, Chinese-Korean idols are openly active in our country and earning huge profits, but is this really fair?" and added, "As mayor of Seoul, I will definitely address this issue."

She also stated, "I will actively protest and respond to the fine dust issue," and said, "We will accumulate and organize objective and scientific data that even the Chinese authorities cannot deny, present it to China, and if necessary, take international action."
