[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 18th that it recently published a white paper containing cases from 40 units in the school space innovation sector.
The white paper titled "A Classroom Where Everything Works, A School That Embraces All" means "An educational imagination where everything works in the classroom, dreamed together, a school involving students, faculty and staff, local residents, and administrative agencies." The white paper fully contains student participation design ideas carried out at each school, the cooperation process of school members, and the appearance of schools with innovative spaces.
The changed spaces by school were classified into seven types. Learning spaces included classrooms with individual spaces, libraries with resting areas, and living spaces such as corridors and home bases like cafes where communication is possible.
Also, play spaces included indoor play areas and outdoor adventure playgrounds, and creative spaces were presented as comprehensive spaces where artistic creation and expressive activities are possible.
Along with these, vivid appearances of ▲ ecological spaces (school forests, learning gardens) ▲ village-linked spaces (spaces shared with the village) ▲ support spaces (comprehensive support spaces where consultation, rest, and meetings are possible) were also included.
In particular, the situation where school members formed a space innovation council to jointly consider and design new educational spaces was introduced in detail.
Superintendent Jang Seok-woong said, "To advance future education after COVID-19, spaces must change," and added, "This space innovation white paper will be a new dimension gateway toward future education."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to promote the school space innovation project by establishing the "Green Smart Future School Promotion Team" through organizational restructuring starting this year.
