Jeju 'Bichui Bunker', 'Monet, Renoir, Chagall' Exhibition from April

[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The media art exhibition hall, Bunker of Light, announced on the 18th that it will present the exhibition 'Bunker of Light: Monet, Renoir, Chagall' starting from the end of April.

Bunker of Light is a cultural space transformed from an old national communication facility bunker located in Seongsan, Jeju, into an exhibition hall showcasing large-scale media art.

Following the Klimt exhibition in 2019 and the Van Gogh exhibition last year, this year it will feature 'Monet, Renoir, Chagall.'

The Bunker of Light stated that the 'Bunker of Light: Van Gogh' exhibition will run until February 28, after which the facility will close temporarily to prepare for the next exhibition, scheduled to open at the end of April featuring 'Monet, Renoir, Chagall.'

The 'Monet, Renoir, Chagall' exhibition consists of seven sequences lasting about 40 minutes, showcasing over 500 works by the three artists who were active along the Mediterranean coast.

The exhibition is centered on Monet, a leading Impressionist painter who explored changes in light while adhering to the Impressionist principle that "light is color." Visitors can also enjoy the works of Renoir, known for his bold colors and contrasts of light and shadow, and Chagall, whose works are fresh and intense.

Alongside the main program 'Monet, Renoir, Chagall,' a special program is also prepared. It features a 10-minute screening of works by Paul Klee, known for his free drawing style.

Paul Klee, a German painter who used vivid and diverse colors as his medium, is being introduced as media art for the first time in Korea.

Bunker of Light is a media art exhibition hall that operates year-round with changing themes each year. It surpassed one million visitors within two years of its opening in December last year, establishing itself as a representative cultural and artistic landmark in Jeju. Each exhibition features a main program of about 40 minutes and a special program of about 10 minutes, allowing visitors to experience various works through media art.

Visitors to Bunker of Light must wear masks and undergo a temperature check before entry.
