Mokpo City Council Opens First Temporary Session of the New Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Mokpo City Council (Chairman Park Changsoo) announced that it will hold the 363rd extraordinary session for eight days from the 18th to the 25th.

This extraordinary session is the first session of 2021 and was originally scheduled to start on the 13th, but due to the extension of social distancing level 2 from the 4th to the 17th because of COVID-19, it will now open from the 18th.

During the session, Mayor Kim Jongsik will report on city administration and major tasks for 2021, and general committee agendas will be processed.

The main committee agendas include a total of 15 various proposals such as Councilor Moon Chabok’s “Mokpo City Ordinance on Support for Adult Walkers for the Elderly,” Councilor Baek Donggyu’s “Mokpo City Ordinance on Activation and Operation of Youth Participation Activities,” and Councilor Jo Seongo’s “Mokpo City Ordinance on Designation of Alley-type Shopping Districts.”

In his opening remarks, Chairman Park Changsoo expressed his aspirations for the new year’s council activities, saying, “In the new year, we will strive even harder to overcome COVID-19, develop Mokpo, and improve citizens’ welfare, and we will vigorously move forward to create a happy Mokpo for all citizens.”
