10th Mass Testing at Dongbu Detention Center Confirms 1 Male Inmate Positive

[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] One male inmate was newly confirmed positive in the full inspection at Seoul Dongbu Detention Center.

On the 18th, the Ministry of Justice announced that one new confirmed case was identified in the 10th full inspection for COVID-19 conducted the previous day at Dongbu Detention Center. All other inmates and staff tested negative.

Accordingly, as of 8 a.m. on the same day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in correctional facilities nationwide increased by one to 1,257 compared to the previous day.

Currently, there are 667 confirmed inmates receiving treatment in correctional facilities: 427 at Dongbu Detention Center, 221 at Gyeongbuk Northern 2 Prison, 15 at Gwangju Prison, and 4 at Seoul Detention Center.
