Autonomous Logistics Robot 'Gokart'... ISO 13482 Certified, Green Light for Overseas Exports
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] Eugene Robot, a company specializing in autonomous driving solutions, has received international standard certification for its autonomously developed autonomous logistics robot.
On the 18th, according to Eugene Robot, the autonomously developed autonomous logistics robot 'Gocart' received the international standard 'ISO 13482' certification for mobile robots. ISO 13482 is an international standard for personal service robots established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2014. Regarding this certification, 'Gocart' is the first mobile robot in Korea to receive certification.
'Gocart' is equipped with a 3D LiDAR sensor developed in-house by Eugene Robot, and it can accurately analyze space and more efficiently avoid obstacles through stereo cameras and ultrasonic sensors. It can also operate in complex spaces requiring logistics transport and loading, such as factories, hospitals, and logistics warehouses, by autonomously calling elevators, moving between floors, or passing through automatic doors.
Currently, the 'Gocart 180,' which can carry up to 180kg, and the 'Gocart 250,' which can carry up to 250kg, are preparing for mass production and are scheduled to be supplied to domestic and international partners starting in March.
Park Sungjoo, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Eugene Robot, stated, "Receiving the first domestic safety certification for mobile robots is significant in enhancing the safety of service robots and securing international certification for commercialization," adding, "We will further strengthen export competitiveness by meeting enhanced service robot safety functions in the global market."
