Can be attached to keychains or bags
Black color, price is 29,700 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics will launch the location management accessory 'Galaxy SmartTag' on the 19th.
The Galaxy SmartTag is a device that helps locate items without communication functions, such as pets, keys, or travel bags, or pets whose location needs to be confirmed. It can be registered and used through Samsung Electronics' SmartThings app's 'SmartThings Find' service, and multiple devices can be registered per smartphone.
The Galaxy SmartTag uses low-power Bluetooth (BLE) technology to display location information on a smartphone. It helps find locations even in offline mode when network connection is lost, with the help of nearby other Galaxy smartphones or tablets. If a Galaxy SmartTag is attached to a pet dog's collar, it can be easily found even if the dog wanders away.
It is also possible to make the Galaxy SmartTag emit a sound when it is close by. Conversely, if the smartphone is lost, pressing the button on the Galaxy SmartTag twice can make the smartphone emit an alert sound.
There is a hole at the top for easy attachment to keyrings or bags. It is equipped with a replaceable CR2032 coin battery that can last up to 300 days. It also features security functions that encrypt personal information such as location data when exchanging information with the smartphone.
The Galaxy SmartTag will be released in black color and priced at 29,700 KRW. Oatmeal color models and package models of two or four Galaxy SmartTags will be released in the future. It can be purchased nationwide at Samsung Digital Plaza, Samsung Electronics' website, Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Naver Smart Store, and other open markets.
