Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association Begins Accepting Government Award Nominations for 'Construction Skilled Workers Day' Starting Today

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association will accept government award nominations from the 18th of this month until the 15th of next month to honor the hard work of construction day laborers who have contributed to the development of the construction industry.

Awards for construction skilled workers have been presented at the Construction Skilled Workers Day ceremony, designated in 2010 to encourage the efforts of construction skilled workers and widely promote the image of professionals. A total of 380 medals and commendations have been awarded up to last year.

This year, a total of 40 awards will be given, including the Industrial Medal, Industrial Decoration, Presidential Citation, Prime Minister's Citation, and commendations from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The awardees include ▲ construction skilled workers who have contributed significantly to the development of the construction industry through long-term diligent and safe construction work at construction sites, ▲ personnel in charge of retirement mutual aid tasks at construction companies, and ▲ vocational training instructors who have contributed to the training and supply of construction skilled workers.

Nominees will be selected through a merit review committee composed of experts related to the construction industry and employment labor, and then recommended to the government. The final selection will be confirmed after government review and the Cabinet meeting.

The award ceremony for the recipients will be held at the 12th 'Construction Skilled Workers Day' ceremony on November 22.

Nominations can be submitted by preparing the required documents such as the merit report and visiting the nearest branch or center of the Mutual Aid Association in person, sending by registered mail, or through the Construction Workers Hanaro Service (www.cwma.or.kr/hanaro).
