[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Bitcoin, the number one cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is maintaining an upward trend in both domestic and international markets, reaching 40 million KRW and 36,000 USD levels.

According to the virtual currency exchange Bithumb on the 18th, as of 7:40 AM, Bitcoin recorded 40.06 million KRW, up 3.45% (1.337 million KRW) compared to 24 hours earlier. A total of 251 billion KRW worth was traded during the day.

Most other cryptocurrencies are also rising. Chainlink is showing a double-digit increase of 11.61%, while ADA (6.72%), Ethereum (3.07%), Stellar Lumens (3.44%), Litecoin (2.12%), and Bitcoin Cash (1.72%) are also up.

At the same time on Upbit, Bitcoin is trading at 40.021 million KRW, down 0.16% (65,000 KRW) compared to the previous day.

On Upbit, the price movements of cryptocurrencies vary. Chainlink (12.33%) and ADA (11.03%) are surging, and Stellar Lumens (5.26%) and Ethereum (0.84%) are also rising. On the other hand, Polkadot (-5.84%), Bitcoin Cash (-2.17%), and Ripple (-0.65%) are falling.

In overseas markets, a slight upward trend is also observed. According to CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency market data provider, at the same time Bitcoin was 36,620.69 USD, up 0.74% compared to 24 hours earlier.

In overseas markets, the price movements of cryptocurrencies also vary. Chainlink (13.00%) and Stellar Lumens (5.07%) are rising, while Polkadot (-2.77%), Bitcoin Cash (-0.83%), and Ripple (-0.23%) are falling.
