[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 18th that it will strengthen premium marketing to showcase the innovative technology of 'LG Signage.'

LG Electronics stated that it installed LG LED signage and LG OLED TVs at the media exhibition of the late artist Kim Whanki's works, 'UNIVERSE_WHANKI 1-Ⅰ-21,' held at the Art Hall on the 6th floor of Lotte Department Store AvenueL World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Visitors can vividly appreciate Kim Whanki's artworks and his artistic world through the vivid image quality of LG LED signage and LG OLED TVs. The exhibition is designed not only for viewing the artworks but also as an experiential exhibition concept that allows visitors to experience the artist's life and artistic world through various advanced technologies.

LG Electronics implemented indoor LED signage (series name: LAPE) inside the exhibition hall, measuring 2.1 meters in width and height. This product features superior image quality by applying proprietary image algorithms, 16-bit color processing, and a 3840 Hertz (Hz) refresh rate.

LG Electronics also supplied about 10 premium TVs, including LG OLED TVs. LG OLED TVs do not require backlighting, as each pixel emits its own light and can be freely controlled to express delicate image quality. With overwhelming contrast ratio, black expression, and nearly perfect viewing angles, they are ideal for displaying artworks.

Artist Kim Whanki is famous for capturing the depth of blue tones, represented by 'Whanki Blue,' through his unique detailed expressions. LG OLED TVs vividly reproduce the diverse and deep colors of Kim Whanki's representative work 'Universe,' as well as the subtly shining tiny stars within the artwork.

Additionally, LG Electronics created a 'Media Cube' measuring 6 meters in width, height, and depth by connecting outdoor LED signage (series name: GSCD) in the outdoor space of Lotte World Tower.

This product applies a '90° corner design' that reduces the gap at connection points, minimizing screen discontinuity at corners when users connect the products at right angles. This is especially useful when installing signage around building corners.

The maximum brightness reaches 5000 nits (nit, cd/㎡), and the screen refresh rate, indicating the number of screen outputs per second, is 3840 Hertz (Hz), enabling smooth and vivid content display even in bright outdoor environments. It also features dustproof and waterproof functions corresponding to the IP65 standard.

Baek Seok-hyung, head of LG Electronics BS Marketing Office, said, “We will continue to strengthen premium marketing to promote the innovative technology of LG Signage that can be utilized in various spaces.”
