Dongjak-gu Supports Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Packages for Pregnant Women

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is providing packages containing eco-friendly agricultural products to pregnant women residing in the area.

This project was established to supply eco-friendly agricultural products to pregnant women to protect their health and to promote consumption, thereby helping farmers who are struggling due to COVID-19.

This year's support targets mothers who gave birth after January 1, 2020, or pregnant women, and provides up to a total of 410,000 KRW per pregnant woman for one year (including a 20% personal contribution) in eco-friendly agricultural products.

Applicants from last year can use the service for an additional six months without a separate application. However, pregnant women with a median income below 80% who are receiving Nutrition Plus support from the public health center are excluded from the support.

The package items include eco-certified organic livestock products, organic processed foods, pesticide-free agricultural products, etc., provided up to 4 times per month (16 times per year), with each delivery ranging from 30,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW.

Pregnant women who wish to apply can do so on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. on the 25th through the online shopping mall for eco-friendly agricultural products for pregnant women.

If online application is not possible, applicants can visit the Economic Promotion Division of the district office (74 Noryangjin-ro, 9th floor of Yuhan Yanghaeng) with a resident registration certificate and pregnancy or childbirth verification documents.

Verification documents include one of the following: hospital-issued pregnancy confirmation, maternal handbook with hospital name and doctor’s seal, application for pregnancy and childbirth medical expense support, birth certificate, or resident registration certificate with birth registration.

Additionally, at the time of application, applicants can choose one of three types: a selective type where they add needed items to the shopping cart and order directly; a completed type configured according to price range and items; or a program type for regular delivery.

For more details, contact the Economic Promotion Division of Dongjak-gu Office.

Kim Jungwon, head of the Economic Promotion Division, said, “Through this support, we hope to provide safe and healthy food to pregnant women, promote the consumption of eco-friendly agricultural products, and further revitalize the local economy.”
