[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] On the 17th, Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, drew a line regarding reports that former head of the Democratic Research Institute Yang Jeong-cheol proposed pardons for former Presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye to him, stating, "We did not discuss specific details."

Lee stated, "I have met former Director Yang, but we did not discuss (the pardons)," according to Kang Seon-woo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party.

Earlier, an internet media outlet reported that former Director Yang raised the issue of pardons to Lee several times, including a meeting in mid-November last year.
