[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Actress Kim Bu-seon expressed anger over the case of 16-month-old Jeong-in, who died due to abuse by her adoptive parents.

On the 15th, Kim Bu-seon wrote a lengthy post on her Facebook, stating, "Jeong-in was abandoned by her birth mother just 8 days after being born and cruelly and horrifically shrank under abuse by her adoptive parents over 16 months."

Kim said, "I gathered my courage and rushed to the Southern District Court," adding, "At the front gate where the Ministry of Justice escort bus carrying Jeong-in’s adoptive mother arrived, I threw snowballs twice but still couldn’t calm my anger, so I hit the window several times until my palm went numb and was immediately thrown to the police."

She continued, "I thought about bringing raw eggs but refrained fearing arrest. I shouted and cried on the street with unfamiliar mothers. Jeong-in’s adoptive father is an accomplice in child abuse resulting in death. I hope he is immediately detained and investigated."

She also said, "After watching the SBS investigative program That’s What I Want to Know (Geugeos-i Algo Sipda), I lost 8 kg in weight," and added, "I want to gather courage again and attend the next trial. I want to show the court that so many citizens are watching the verdict."

Finally, Kim raised her voice, saying, "I want to see judicial justice," and "When the court punishes all accomplices who killed Jeong-in with heavy sentences, wouldn’t that be true judicial reform?"

Meanwhile, the first trial for Jeong-in’s adoptive parents, who caused her death through abuse at 16 months old, was held on the 13th. On that day, the prosecution requested a change in the indictment against the adoptive mother, Jang, applying murder charges instead of child abuse resulting in death. Initially, she was charged with child abuse causing death, but it was judged that there was implied intent to kill. A petition titled "Apply murder charges to the adoptive father as well" was also posted on the Blue House national petition board.
