Gwangyang City, Recruiting Winter Youth University Student Administrative Interns This Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 15th that it is recruiting winter youth administrative interns for this year until the 19th.

The youth administrative intern program provides local university students with opportunities to participate in city administration, allowing them to experience public service and social life, fostering attachment and a spirit of service toward the region, and enhancing their understanding of administration.

Since its launch in the summer vacation of 2019, the Gwangyang City youth administrative intern program has attracted interest from young people, recruiting 35 participants each time. However, this winter administrative internship will expand recruitment to between 50 and 70 participants to allow more youth to gain experience.

Additionally, to provide various administrative opportunities to participants, this internship will include visits to local facilities and tourist sites, as well as safety experience activities.

The eligibility requirements are university students aged 18 to 39 residing in Gwangyang City. Students on leave of absence may also apply, and applicants must not be enrolled in employment insurance.

Applications can be submitted by sending documents such as a resume, personal information consent form, resident registration certificate, enrollment (or leave of absence) certificate, and employment insurance qualification history via email or by visiting Gwangyang Youth Dream Center (Oryu 5-gil 8).

The city will accept applications until the 19th and will select the final candidates through a public lottery on the 22nd.

The work period is two weeks. The first group of selected interns will be assigned to departments from January 28 to February 10, and the second group from February 15 to February 26, gaining administrative experience and receiving wages including weekly holiday pay.

For further inquiries, contact the Youth Policy Team at the Gwangyang City Strategic Policy Office or the Gwangyang Youth Dream Center.

Cho Sun-mi, head of the Strategic Policy Office, said, “I hope the administrative intern program will be a good opportunity for young people to increase their understanding of city administration and learn organizational culture,” adding, “The city will do its best to create Gwangyang as a hopeful city where youth can achieve their dreams through various youth support policies.”
