Gangnam-gu "Use Less Energy Until March and Earn Special Points"

During the Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period, Saving 20-30% on Heating Will Earn an Additional 10,000-12,000 Won Eco Mileage

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu District Office (Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is operating the ‘Eco Mileage Special Points’ system, which awards up to 12,000 mileage points for saving heating energy during the ‘Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period (December to March).’

The ‘Eco Mileage Special Points’ program aims to reduce high concentrations of fine dust caused by increased heating energy use in winter and is available only to existing Eco Mileage individual members, who can receive points in July.

If energy usage is reduced by more than 20% compared to the average usage over the previous two years, 10,000 points are awarded; if savings exceed 30%, an additional 12,000 mileage points can be earned.

Accumulated mileage points can be used as cash, card points, or for apartment management fees, and they are valid for five years. Those interested in participating can apply through the Seoul Eco Mileage website or at their nearest community service center.

Joo Myung-ae, Head of the Environment Division, stated, “Last year, the number of Gangnam-gu Eco Mileage members practicing a ‘must-environment city’ reached 126,049, an increase of about 5% compared to the previous year (119,904). We hope many people will take interest in Eco Mileage, which offers energy savings, fine dust reduction, and special points.”
