North Korea Holds Party Congress Celebration Performance at Pyongyang Gymnasium... No Mention of Military Parade The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers' Party of Korea, reported on the 14th that a performance titled "Singing to the Party" celebrating the 8th Party Congress was held at the Pyongyang Gymnasium on the 13th. Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Party, along with delegates of the Party Congress, attended the performance.


North Korea, having concluded the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party, held a commemorative performance at the Pyongyang Gymnasium on the 13th. There was no special mention regarding the military parade.


The North Korean state media, Korean Central News Agency, reported on the 14th that "the grand performance celebrating the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party, 'Singing to the Party,' was magnificently held at the Pyongyang Gymnasium on January 13."


General Secretary Kim Jong Un, along with Choe Ryong Hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Jo Yong Won, Party Secretary, Ri Pyong Chol, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Military Commission, and Kim Tok Hun, Premier of the Cabinet, attended the performance.


Across two parts, vocal and instrumental performances, dance, and mass gymnastics were presented, including pieces such as "Song to Marshal Kim Il Sung" and "Glory to General Kim Jong Un," utilizing 3D multimedia and lighting effects. The news agency added that General Secretary Kim expressed satisfaction with the performers' achievements.


On the same day, training sessions were conducted for participants of the Party Congress.


Party Secretaries Jo Yong Won and Pak Tae Song appeared in the training, discussing ways to implement the decisions of the Party Congress and emphasizing devoted service to the Party's line, policies, and work.


There was no report on whether the much-anticipated military parade would be held. It is expected that the commemorative events for the Party Congress will continue for several more days.


Previously, North Korea invited elders from various sectors to the Party Congress commemorative events, leading to speculation that a military parade might be held after the closing of the Congress.
