Mayor Cho: "5 More Confirmed Cases Related to Prayer Center" ... Total Rises to 34
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 13th, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il held a press conference in the briefing room and announced that 5 people were confirmed positive today following 29 cases yesterday at Jinju International Prayer Center.
Mayor Cho explained that 4 of them were visitors to the prayer center, and the remaining 1 was a spouse of a visitor. This brings the total confirmed cases to 34.
The city identified 180 visitors to the prayer center, but since 52 people registered multiple times, the actual number of visitors was counted as 128.
Among them, 43 residents of Jinju, excluding 56 residents from other regions, were tested, 18 are scheduled for testing, and 11 have not been tested.
Among those untested, 3 answered that they 'did not visit,' 6 had disconnected numbers, and 2 were unreachable.
The city is comparing the list of visitors and lodgers at the prayer center since January 2020 with the recent visitor list to find similar numbers among the 6 disconnected cases.
In cooperation with Jinju Police Station, the city requested financial inquiries to track donation accounts and obtain the list, and also requested GPS location checks to identify whereabouts.
Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, "For visitors who are unreachable or have disconnected numbers making diagnosis and contact tracing difficult, we will use all possible means to verify them for the health and safety of our citizens."
