[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] Paint manufacturer Noroo Paint has developed a paint with excellent virus elimination effects against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

According to Noroo Paint on the 12th, they have developed an antiviral paint that was directly tested against the COVID-19 virus, and it was found that the paint can eliminate 99% of the virus within 30 minutes of contact. Virus elimination begins immediately upon contact, significantly reducing the elimination time compared to existing antiviral paints. Additionally, the company explains that the antiviral effect lasts for 5 years after application.

The paint uses antiviral ingredients approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and has passed tests conducted by KR Biotech Disease Control Research Institute, a specialized virus verification organization, confirming its safety and effectiveness.

This product will be commercialized under Noroo Paint’s flagship architectural paint brand, 'Soon&Su Antiviral V-Guard,' and is scheduled to be released within this month.

A Noroo Paint official stated, "As public anxiety about COVID-19 grows in multi-use facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes, we will do our best to contribute to blocking the spread of COVID-19 with this virus-eliminating paint."
