Sunwoo Eun-sook "I wouldn't divorce now... I didn't know when I was young"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Sunwoo Eun-sook confessed the story behind the rift between her and her ex-husband Lee Young-ha on the show "We Got Divorced."
On the 11th episode of TV Chosun's variety show "We Got Divorced," Lee Young-ha said, "I tend to be stress-free. I don't care about things that don't concern me."
Sunwoo Eun-sook responded, "Hearing that, something suddenly crossed my mind. That is both a strength and a weakness. Even when someone said they would sue me, he didn't take my side."
When Lee Young-ha said, "I don't understand what you mean," Sunwoo Eun-sook said, "That junior said she would sue me, and I told her to go ahead. She said she would make me unable to continue my entertainment career."
She continued, "You know the main reason we got divorced, right? People say we broke up because he cheated, but that's not true."
When Lee Young-ha asked, "Then why did that junior confront you saying she would sue?" Sunwoo Eun-sook said, "That woman sent him many messages asking him to pretend he didn't know about this matter. At that time, he told me, 'I don't know anything about it.' I didn't like how shameless that woman was, so I told the other man about it. But he denied it."
MC Shin Dong-yup explained the situation, saying, "It seems this couple got involved in a love triangle with that junior. Lee Young-ha didn't care, but Sunwoo Eun-sook tried to help resolve the situation, which made things worse."
Sunwoo Eun-sook said, "Because of this lawsuit incident, our relationship was bad for six months. When I suggested a separation, my pain was, 'Why doesn't he take my side?' That was my wound."
She added, "It wasn't just our problem; because of a third party, our marriage kept falling apart."
The MCs expressed surprise, saying, "It's really heartbreaking that a third party caused the separation."
Lee Young-ha replied, "Living in this world and constantly hearing these stories is difficult. I'm a simple person."
Feeling the cold atmosphere, Sunwoo Eun-sook apologized, saying, "I ruined the mood by talking about this."
Later, Lee Young-ha and Sunwoo Eun-sook went out to eat with their son and daughter-in-law.
At the meal, when the daughter-in-law asked, "If you were your current self, would you divorce your father?" Sunwoo Eun-sook answered, "I wouldn't divorce. The answer is clear. If I were over 60 now and felt hurt by him, I would resolve it."
Sunwoo Eun-sook added, "Back then, I was too young and hurt, so I didn't understand the world. Dad said he didn't know."
Lee Young-ha said, "I really didn't know why we had to divorce."
Sunwoo Eun-sook said, "I think I filmed this program well," adding, "We had a lot to say to each other, and it was good to be able to say it. If it weren't for the show, neither of us would have talked. It feels like therapy, and it's really good."
