[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Construction announced on the 11th that it will invest in Ten Eleven, an AI-based 3D design solution specialist company.
Founded in 2014, Ten Eleven is a startup that provides AI architectural automatic design services by analyzing the terrain, views, and building regulations of project sites to derive optimal apartment complex layout plans. It is gradually expanding its business targeting construction companies, design firms, and developers.
The investment amount corresponds to 6% of Ten Eleven's total shares. In addition to Hyundai Construction, Vibe Company and Hoban Construction also participated in the investment.
This is part of Hyundai Construction's '2025 Strategy' announced in October last year, aiming to proactively and strategically invest in construction-related startups to secure mid- to long-term competitiveness and actively promote new businesses.
Hyundai Construction plans to strengthen apartment complex design and sales competitiveness through joint development of an 'AI-based apartment complex 3D automatic design system' with Ten Eleven. The company will actively utilize this technology in the orders and sales of its apartment complex brands 'The H' and 'Hillstate,' and will preemptively secure eco-friendly building design technology such as optimal placement of solar power generation within complexes.
In the modular housing sector, where housing materials and components are manufactured in factories and units are assembled on-site, Hyundai Construction will also seek to enter new businesses to secure future growth engines by promoting projects using automatic design solutions.
A company official stated, "Through the convergence of information and communication technology (ICT) among Hyundai Construction (construction company), Hyundai Comprehensive Design (design firm), and Ten Eleven (IT company), we will play a leading role in transforming the domestic architectural design industry paradigm from labor-centered to AI-based automated design." He added, "We will continue to discover and invest in capable startups in the smart construction and new business fields."
