Jeonnam Province Urges Application for Small Business Support Fund from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has launched a campaign to promote the Small Business Resilience Fund by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

According to Jeonnam Province on the 9th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to provide the Resilience Fund to 110,000 small business owners in the province starting from the 11th.

The "Small Business Resilience Fund" is provided to alleviate the difficulties faced by small business owners due to government quarantine measures and is targeted at small business owners who registered their businesses before November 30 of last year.

For fund disbursement, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will select recipients including those who received the New Hope Fund and send guidance text messages to the respective small business owners.

Recipients can apply by accessing the Small Business Resilience Fund website and receive the payment immediately.

Additionally, for small business owners who are not familiar with using online platforms such as mobile phones, on-site application desks will be operated at regional hubs so that digitally marginalized small business owners can also quickly benefit.

The support amount is 3 million KRW for those affected by business suspension orders, 2 million KRW for those affected by business restrictions, and 1 million KRW for small business owners with annual sales under 400 million KRW whose sales decreased compared to 2019.

For more details, inquiries can be made through the dedicated call center (1522-3500) or online chat consultation on the Resilience Fund website.

Furthermore, Jeonnam Province produced 100,000 promotional leaflets containing information on eligibility, amounts, and payment methods in cooperation with city and county offices and distributed them to all small business owners in the province.

In addition, text messages about the fund were sent to members of industry associations such as the Jeonnam Small Business Federation, Jeonnam Market Merchants Federation, and associations for food service, beauty, and hairdressing sectors, and promotional banners were posted near shopping districts and traditional markets in the province.

Joo Soon-seon, Director of the Economic Energy Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, "We will continue to promote so that all small business owners in the province can benefit from government policies," and added, "Spam messages exploiting social confusion and anxiety caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic are increasing, so small business owners should be cautious."
