Pohang Mayor Lee Gang-deok Visits Screening Clinic to Deliver Winter Boots... Medical Staff Shivering in Severe Cold Wave

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the 9th, Pohang City announced that on the 8th, together with the Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch, it delivered 258 pairs of winter boots to the medical staff working on the front lines of COVID-19 quarantine at screening clinics.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok visited the screening clinics that day to encourage the medical staff who are struggling with severe cold due to the difficulty of conducting indoor tests because of the nature of COVID-19 testing, and checked the operational status.

Pohang City operates screening clinics at Nam-gu and Gu Health Centers, a key drive-through screening site in Buk-gu, a temporary screening clinic at the KTX station, as well as mobile screening clinics in various locations. From the 6th to the 8th, a temporary screening clinic was set up at the city hall plaza to conduct COVID-19 mass testing for all Pohang City employees.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, "To block the chain of COVID-19 infections in the region, we are proactively operating screening clinics at several key locations," and added, "I sincerely thank the workers who spare no effort for the safety of citizens."

Meanwhile, on the 6th, Pohang City purchased and distributed over 300 winter vests to ensure smooth work for the medical staff at the screening clinics.
