Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Hold Non-Face-to-Face Briefing on SME Support Projects This Year

Online Briefings Held Over 190 Times from the 12th This Month to the 10th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will hold about 190 sessions of the non-face-to-face '2021 SME Support Project Briefing' for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners from the 12th of this month to the 10th of next month.

This briefing will be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by considering social distancing levels and to accommodate business owners who find it difficult to attend due to time and location constraints.

The comprehensive online briefing will be held on the 12th from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM and will be broadcast through the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' YouTube, Facebook, and Naver TV channels. Anyone can watch without prior registration. It will explain the main support projects, changes in systems, and how to participate in seven areas targeting SMEs and small business owners nationwide: startup & venture, export, sales channels, technology development (R&D), policy funds, technology guarantees, and small business owners.

Business owners who cannot participate on the day of the briefing will be able to watch the explanation videos anytime after the briefing ends, as the videos will be posted on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' YouTube channel and the Corporate Madang website.

Sector-specific online briefings will be held from the 13th of this month to the 10th of next month via YouTube and video conferencing systems (Gurumi biz, Zoom, etc.). Officials from regional SME offices, local governments, and SME support organizations will explain and consult on support project introductions and application methods.

A Ministry of SMEs and Startups official stated, "For policy beneficiaries who are not familiar with internet use, such as elderly small business owners and traditional market merchants, separate offline briefings will be held considering the social distancing levels in each region." He added, "The support project briefing booklets for the online briefings will be provided as e-books and can be downloaded from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' website."
