[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the afternoon of the 7th that it signed a business agreement at the City Hall Business Room with local companies Infolex Co., Ltd. and Ghostpass Co., Ltd. to foster the AI industry based in the Gwangju region.

This is the 64th to 65th agreement to establish a Gwangju-type AI business foundation.

Infolex Co., Ltd. is a company providing the "Yeoboya" marriage brokerage app service. Utilizing over 1.3 million existing structured and unstructured big data, it is building a dataset and developing technology that recommends the optimal customized marriage partner using deep learning techniques, preparing for a new leap forward.

Ghostpass Co., Ltd. is a local venture company that develops and provides software solutions integrating decentralized identity (DID) order and payment services using AI facial recognition technology.

The company has developed a next-generation new concept decentralized identity authentication method using AI facial recognition technology, received patent certification for its technology that blocks biometric and personal information leaks, and is developing a 100% non-face-to-face "Tablet kiosk" applying this technology.

Through this agreement, the city and the companies will actively cooperate to enable companies to strengthen their capabilities by integrating AI technology with existing technologies, allowing them to grow into global companies with world-class competitiveness and to foster the AI industry ecosystem in Gwangju.

The main contents of the agreement include ▲ operating various corporate support programs to promote AI technology development and adoption by local companies ▲ cooperation in nurturing AI talent and creating jobs ▲ promoting new technology development based on AI and AI technology convergence commercialization ▲ planning and promoting joint public support service projects.

In particular, by developing an "AI-based platform connecting unmarried men and women" with Infolex, the city plans to maximize synergy in creating a "Gwangju good for having and raising children" by expanding the scope of AI-based lifecycle birth policies from recommending meetings for young men and women to marriage and childcare.

Going forward, Gwangju City plans to actively support the discovery of "AI-based technology development strategic tasks," such as operating various programs, developing source and applied technologies, and supporting demonstration commercialization, to help promising local companies grow through AI technology adoption.

It also plans to support growth into an "AI-based platform company" by developing AI technologies applicable to various fields and to make active efforts to lay stepping stones that allow even a single excellent idea to leap into a unicorn company.

Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, "Now is the AI era where no product, service, or industry can secure competitiveness without integrating AI," adding, "We will sincerely support companies rooted and emerging in our region to grow into global companies with world-class competitiveness based on AI."
