[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Former People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won appeared on TV Chosun's variety show 'Taste of Wife' on the 5th, revealing her daily life with her family, sparking public interest.

On that day’s episode of 'Taste of Wife,' former lawmaker Na, her husband Kim Jae-ho, a judge at the Seoul High Court, their daughter Kim Yuna, and Na Kyung-won's father also appeared.

Na Kyung-won said, "I had a hard time persuading my husband to appear," adding, "My husband has never properly appeared on a broadcast before," and that it was their daughter Yuna’s persuasion that led to his participation.

Na shared that every Saturday, she holds a 'home-maek' (beer enjoyed at home) party with her family.

She said, "I started drinking after getting married. I like all kinds of alcoholic beverages without preference."

Na also showed herself purchasing essential military items such as insoles, blister pads, shower balls, and band-aids for her son, who was two days away from enlistment. She then joined a 'gomshin' (military girlfriend) cafe to prepare for what was needed before his enlistment.

Na Kyung-won's son, Kim Hyun-jo, did not appear that day. It was reported that he was busy with appointments with acquaintances ahead of his enlistment.

Her husband Kim Jae-ho called while eating chicken to ask when their son would come home, but the call was not answered. When Kim Jae-ho said, "He doesn’t answer calls and only texts, which is tough," Na Kyung-won replied, "He won’t be able to do that once he goes to the training camp."

In the interview, Na expressed regret that she could not attend her son’s enlistment day. She said, "I had to attend as a witness in a trial. There are cases where you can get permission for absence if you submit a certificate, but I submitted it just in case, and it was denied."

When Na complained to her husband, a chief judge at the Seoul High Court, saying, "Don’t they grant such permissions? It wasn’t even an important witness that day," he replied, "Trials don’t work that way." Then Na responded, "Hasn’t anyone ever been a judge?"

Na also spoke about marital quarrels. She said, "We were classmates at the same university and lived in the same neighborhood, but we started dating from our sophomore year. There’s no couple who doesn’t fight, and during my first term, I even talked behind my husband’s back, which led to rumors of discord. Then there were rumors of separation."

She continued, "When I became the party spokesperson, the party leader called me saying there were rumors that a divorce was underway. By the fourth year, a former chairman asked me, 'Did you get divorced?'"

Additionally, Na, who was born as the eldest in a family with four daughters, said that since her mother passed away two years ago, she and her siblings take turns having meals with their father.

She said, "When I lost in the April 15 general election, my siblings were very happy," adding, "Now they emphasize that I should properly take my turn for meals with our father."

Na Kyung-won and her three sisters all graduated from Seoul National University. She attributed her academic success to following her mother’s advice to "put your heart into everything."

Meanwhile, next week’s episode of 'Taste of Wife' is expected to feature Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, and her husband, raising viewers’ anticipation.
