[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The couple Na Kyung-won and Kim Jae-ho made their first appearance on 'The Taste of Wife.'
On the 5th, the TV Chosun variety show 'The Taste of Wife' welcomed former lawmaker Na Kyung-won and her husband Kim Jae-ho as new cast members. Their daughter Kim Yuna, who has Down syndrome, also appeared.
Former lawmaker Na Kyung-won said, "I am honored to appear on such a popular program," adding, "In the new year, I hope we can forget all the difficulties of 2020 and throw away our masks."
The panelists admired Na Kyung-won's beauty and asked about her university admission year, to which she replied, "Class of '82," surprising everyone.
On the show, Na Kyung-won applied skin toner and lotion after washing her face. When asked about her skincare secret, she said, "I use face packs," and "I use cosmetics given to me by people around me."
Her husband Kim Jae-ho, who works as a judge at the Seoul High Court, started his day by grinding coffee.
Their daughter Yuna danced to BTS's 'Dynamite' and played the drums.
At that moment, Na Kyung-won and Kim Jae-ho caught attention by dancing along to their daughter's performance.
Regarding why her husband appeared on 'The Taste of Wife,' Na Kyung-won said, "My husband didn't want to, but our daughter suggested we try it, so we did."
Then, Na Kyung-won, her husband Kim Jae-ho, and daughter Kim Yuna shared a meal and chatted.
Na Kyung-won told her husband, "Yuna wants to get married," adding, "She likes a boy who lives in Busan."
Kim Yuna said, "Mom and Dad are getting old, need to find jobs and get married," and "We can't rely on help forever."
When Na Kyung-won asked, "Even if you get married, you'll live with Mom, right?" her daughter Kim Yuna replied, "I can live with my husband too."
Na Kyung-won explained, "Recently, my daughter attended a vocational training school for a year. Even when applying for certifications like Word processing, she did everything by herself from the application. She earned three certificates by graduation."
She continued, "When I first had a child with a disability, I felt overwhelmed. I wondered if she would grow well and didn't know how far I could help, so it was tough."
She added, "I taught her even the obvious things step by step. Giving opportunities is important," she said.
Former lawmaker Na said, "Now that they have grown up, there are many things they can do. Our children may be a bit late, but once they overcome that, they do well. If we give children opportunities and encourage them to keep challenging themselves, they will play a good role in society. That will be a great contribution to our society as well," she explained.
Then Na Kyung-won went for a walk along the Han River with her father and daughter. At that time, her father said, "Na Kyung-won learned skating, piano, swimming, and speech, and whenever she participated in competitions, she always came in first," surprising the panelists.
When asked about marital fights, Na Kyung-won said, "Is there any couple who doesn't fight?" She added, "One day, I criticized my husband, and rumors of discord spread. In the second year, there were even rumors of separation, and when I became the party spokesperson, divorce rumors surfaced. By the fourth year, there were even talks that we had divorced."
Meanwhile, Na Kyung-won, who is 59 this year, met her university classmate Kim Jae-ho in their sophomore year and started a family. They are the same age.
Na Kyung-won and Kim Jae-ho have one son and one daughter. Their daughter, 29 years old, has Down syndrome and is reported to have majored in drums at university. Their son recently enlisted in the military.
