Launch of the 'Nowon Environmental Ecology Travel' App Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is launching the ‘Nowon Environmental Ecology Travel’ app service, which allows users to enjoy nature while listening to environmental and ecological stories on their mobile devices.

This is to accommodate the growing preference for non-face-to-face interpretation services due to COVID-19, enabling residents to conveniently use the service.

The service method involves exploring environmental and ecological travel courses composed of major forests, streams, trails, parks, walking paths, and environment-related institutions through the app.

Additionally, when users move and use the app, a GPS-based automatic notification (Push) function provides convenient guidance on the content of each point of interest as they approach designated locations on the course.

Each course offers various information such as map-based guidance, general information for each course, and video interpretation services for each point. The video interpretations are high-quality video content produced from professional interpreters’ explanations conducted on-site. Features such as stamp tours for each course, quiz solving, mission photo-taking, and photo sharing add fun and interest.

The app is organized into three themes. First, in ‘Environmental Ecology Stories’ narrated by interpreters, video services are provided for three courses: Bulamsan Footpath ~ Bulamsan Ecology Learning Center, Seoul Dulle-gil ~ Bulamsan and Suraksan sections, and Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail.

In ‘Environmental Travel Courses,’ guidance is provided for three travel courses: environmental education institution travel, energy travel, and resource circulation travel. Lastly, in the ecological travel courses, users can explore 10 travel courses including Jungnangcheon Waterway Travel, Yeongchuksan Barrier-Free Forest Healing Road, and Danghyeoncheon Waterway Travel.

The app can be easily downloaded on smartphones by searching for ‘Nowon Environmental Ecology Travel’ on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Additionally, users can check how to use the app by searching ‘Nowon Environmental Ecology Travel’ on YouTube.

District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I hope residents tired from the prolonged COVID-19 situation can enjoy nature safely and enjoyably through the Nowon Environmental Ecology Travel app,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve residents’ quality of life by providing various non-face-to-face app services.”
