Yeongpung Decides to Halt Production at Seokpo Smelter

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Youngpoong announced on the 4th that it will suspend operations at the Seokpo Smelter for 1 month and 30 days starting April 1 due to administrative sanctions for violating the Water Environment Conservation Act. The sales amount in the production suspension sector is 1.3001 trillion KRW, which accounts for 42.16% of the sales in 2019. The scheduled production resumption date is May 31.

The company stated, "We are reviewing legal relief procedures," and explained, "The production volume is expected to decrease due to the production suspension decision."
