Korea Technology Subsidiary Wins 95.6 Billion KRW Contract for Metropolitan Area Smart Logistics Center Construction

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 24th that its subsidiary Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction (Chairman Kim Yongbin) has won a contract worth approximately 95.6 billion KRW to build a smart logistics center in the Gimpo Industrial Complex.

The smart logistics center will be constructed as a 1 to 8-story building in Daepo-ri, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, within the Daepo General Industrial Complex, a key logistics hub in the metropolitan area.

It will include refrigerated warehouses, ambient temperature warehouses, and support facilities equipped with advanced AI-based automated management systems. Considering the characteristics of logistics warehouses, it has been specially designed to accommodate 177 docking vehicles and 331 general vehicles for parking.

With this contract win, the company has achieved new orders worth 470.4 billion KRW since November alone, surpassing last year's sales.

A company representative said, “Recently, following apartments, residential-commercial complexes, lodging facilities, and offices, we have secured orders for smart logistics facility construction in key metropolitan areas. The use of safe materials and eco-friendly construction has been the secret to our relay of orders. We plan to continue securing orders without rest until the last day of this year.”

They added, “This 95.6 billion KRW smart logistics center project will mark the beginning of our newly added business purpose of establishing an AI and deep learning-based ‘automated logistics delivery system.’ We are currently pursuing a business agreement with a major logistics center operator to build additional AI logistics centers.”
