Asiana Airlines Also Decides Not to Operate Round-Trip Route Between Incheon and London
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Korean Air announced on the 23rd that it will suspend flights departing from London Heathrow Airport to Incheon International Airport until the 31st of this month due to the spread of a new variant of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK.
From today, flights from London to Incheon will not operate. However, flights from Incheon to London will continue to operate three times a week as usual.
Originally, Korean Air planned to operate round-trip flights on the Incheon-London route on the 23rd, 25th, 28th, and 30th. However, due to increasing concerns about the COVID-19 variant, only one-way flights from Incheon to London will be operated during this period.
Asiana Airlines will suspend its weekly round-trip flights on the Incheon-London route until the end of this month. Accordingly, flights departing from Incheon to London and from London to Incheon on the 25th of this month will not operate.
Meanwhile, the government previously stated, "To block the domestic inflow of the variant virus discovered in the UK, a response plan was prepared through a meeting with related ministries yesterday afternoon," and announced, "Flights with the UK will be temporarily suspended until the end of this month."
