[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics' new wireless earphones, 'Galaxy Buds Pro,' set to be unveiled in January next year, will include a feature that identifies and amplifies conversation voices.

According to IT community Reddit and others on the 21st (local time), the Galaxy Buds Pro will introduce a voice detection feature. While wearing the earphones and listening to music, the device will capture the voice of a conversation partner from outside, amplify it, and lower the music volume. Additionally, when the active noise canceling function is turned off, users can still manually block noise.

The Galaxy Buds Pro will offer four ambient sound modes, allowing users to hear necessary sounds more effectively. When selecting the voice detection mode, the earphones capture and amplify the speaker's voice during conversations while lowering the volume of the playing music. Previously, users could only listen to all ambient sounds or turn them off, but now the device becomes smarter by distinguishing sounds and allowing necessary noises to be heard.

Along with this, the '3D Spatial Audio Mode' is also supported. It detects the user's head position and movement to deliver sounds from all directions more vividly and immersively. When playing videos, using this mode enables users to enjoy lifelike sound as if they were actually on-site. Through a Samsung wearable app update, features such as finding a lost single earbud and adjusting left-right sound balance will also be added.

The Galaxy Buds Pro will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in mid-January next year. The Galaxy Buds Pro will be an in-ear type with an earbud design inspired by smooth pebbles. The water resistance rating is expected to be significantly improved from the previous IPX2 level, which was suitable for everyday water resistance, to IP68. The IP68 rating means it can withstand a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The battery capacity of the case is 500mAh, larger than the Galaxy Buds Live's 472mAh. Battery life is up to 22 hours with charging via the case, and 6 hours for earbud use.

With improved features, the price will also increase slightly. During the certification process, the Galaxy Buds Pro's U.S. selling price was reported to be $199. The previous model, Galaxy Buds Live, was priced at $170 (approximately 198,000 KRW domestically). In Korea, it is expected to be released in the 220,000 to 230,000 KRW range.
