[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 22nd, Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced that it was finally selected for the '2021 Youth-Friendly City Contest Project' hosted by Gyeongnam Province.


A youth-friendly city is a system where the province supports project expenses when discovering youth policies reflecting the characteristics of cities and counties and the sensibilities of youth.


The project proposed based on opinions gathered from the Miryang youth survey and youth policy network activities received favorable reviews in the evaluation. Through expert consulting, the project content was revised and supplemented, and it is planned to be promoted with a total project budget of 2.6 billion KRW until 2022.


Under the overall project name "It's Okay Miryang, Because We Are Youth," the city will carry out 15 youth-friendly city projects, including the operation of the "Youth Dream Center," "Youth Communication - Youth Collaboration," and the "Good Farmer Community."


Mayor Park Il-ho said, "Through the creation of a youth-friendly city, we expect the entire region to be filled with new vitality from young people by implementing various projects where youth can stay, return, and visit."
