Role as Guardians of Our Sea through Marine Environment Protection Video Production
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) and the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation Marine Environment Education Center (Director Cho Chan-yeon) have joined forces in education to solve marine environmental issues.
The two institutions decided to use Dongseo University's LINC+ Project Group's Class Selling program to generate ideas for solving marine environmental problems and produce videos to be used in environmental protection education.
Class Selling, Dongseo University's representative industry-academia cooperation program, responds immediately to local and corporate demands. It is a program that flexibly reorganizes industry-academia curricula to improve students' practical skills and enhance the quality of education.
Class Selling, meaning selling courses, opens courses requested by local communities and companies and jointly guides students with faculty advisors.
The outcomes derived from the classes are sold to the demand sources as a kind of 'custom-made production program.' Participating students gain problem-solving skills along with scholarship benefits from the demand sources, while the demand sources secure fresh ideas and talented individuals. This program helps solve various social issues.
Currently, 25 programs including Marine Environment Education Content Development (faculty advisor Park Mi-sun, Department of Broadcasting and Video) are being operated this year.
On the 16th, a 'Marine Environment Education Content Development Performance Presentation and Competition' was held via video conference. The event was attended by the Director of the Marine Environment Education Center, Dr. Noh Jae-hwan from the Education Center, faculty advisor Park Mi-sun from Dongseo University, Director Kim Jeong-sook of Dongseo University Industry-Academia Education Center, and five teams who produced videos, presenting excellent works.
Additionally, a process to promote the works and expand their impact is underway. At the end of the event, students and faculty advisors who produced educational videos with creative ideas received certificates of appreciation from the Marine Environment Education Center, which commissioned the projects.
The Education Center and Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group plan to continue collaborative programs.
