Lotte Duty Free and Shinhan Card Open 'Areumin Library' for Children and Adolescents

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 22nd that it has opened the ‘Areumin Library’ at the Gangseo Youth Center in collaboration with Shinhan Card.

The opening ceremony held on the 21st at the Gangseo Youth Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, was attended by Won Jeong-sook, Lotte Duty Free Gimpo Airport Store Manager, Kim Han-gyeom, Shinhan Card Strategic Merchant Team Leader, and Kim Jeong-yul, Director of Gangseo Youth Center.

Areumin Library is a social contribution project that Shinhan Card has been carrying out since 2010 to promote reading culture and provide a healthy reading environment for vulnerable groups within local communities. Since 2014, Lotte Duty Free has partnered with Shinhan Card, donating 5% of the My Shinhan Points used at all Lotte Duty Free stores as contributions to support the establishment of Areumin Libraries.

The 9th Areumin Library established at the Gangseo Youth Center is expected to help create an eco-friendly learning environment for children and adolescents in the area, as well as provide emotional stability through various programs that schools, government offices, and local residents cannot cover in regular education. Since opening the first branch in Jeju in partnership with Shinhan Card, Lotte Duty Free has been installing libraries nationwide every year in Seoul, Busan, Incheon, and other regions.

Won Jeong-sook, Lotte Duty Free Gimpo Airport Store Manager, said, “We consider it very meaningful to provide a space for children and adolescents, who are the future of our society,” and added, “Lotte Duty Free plans to continue various social contribution activities that coexist with our local community neighbors.”
