[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting candidates for the '2021 Young Successor Farmer Settlement Support Project.'
This project is promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to support young farmers experiencing income instability in the early stages of farming, aiming to increase the entry of young and talented individuals into the agricultural sector.
The eligible applicants are young farmers aged 18 to under 40, who have completed or are exempt from military service, residing in Gimhae City, and have been independently managing farms for three years or less.
Applications can be submitted by January 27, 2021, through the Agricultural Project Information System along with the application form and supporting documents.
The number of selected candidates will be finalized in January. After document evaluation in February and interview evaluation in March, the final candidates will be confirmed by the end of March.
Selected young successor farmers will receive a monthly farming settlement support fund of up to 1 million KRW, startup loan support up to 300 million KRW, farmland lease support through the Farmland Bank, and technical management education and consulting.
A city official stated, “We will do our best to support and promote so that young startup farmers with unstable income in the early stages of farming can receive maximum benefits.”
