BGF Group Launches Home Party Campaign for Employees Instead of Year-End Gatherings

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] On the 22nd, BGF Group announced that it will foster a healthy corporate culture by launching a home party campaign with family instead of the year-end employee party.

Last week, BGF Group canceled department year-end parties to prevent and contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), encouraged small-scale home parties among individuals or families, and sent Christmas gift sets worth about 100,000 KRW to approximately 3,000 employees.

By refraining from the customary year-end group gatherings held by companies and actively practicing participation in quarantine measures, the company prepared a surprise gift to protect employees' safety and help them spend a more meaningful year-end.

BGF Retail President Geonjun Lee expressed in a year-end card to employees, “We prepared gifts with gratitude for employees who did their best in their respective positions during this difficult year due to COVID-19,” and added, “How about putting aside camaraderie just for a moment and holding a home party with your beloved family this year-end?” conveying thanks and a request.

BGF employee gifts consisted of CU’s hit products that were very popular with consumers this year. About 30 products including convenience store restaurant items, overseas sourcing, collaboration products, delivery and pickup discount coupons were included so that all employees could introduce the achievements they made together to their families, taste and experience them together, and calmly reflect on the year.

In addition, BGF Group regularly runs untact communication programs to support and boost the morale of employees even amid the COVID-19 situation.

To support employees’ self-development and hobbies, various non-face-to-face cultural lectures on topics such as wine tasting and gardening DIY were offered and received great responses. This year, an online special gathering was held for the first time to promote harmony among new employees whose meetings were limited.

BGF Organizational Culture Team Leader Kyuyul Yeom said, “Rather than delivering somewhat rigid notices and guidelines related to social distancing, the company actively tried to naturally create a healthy year-end atmosphere,” and added, “BGF will continue to grow into a young and vibrant company where everyone can enjoy working through a mature organizational culture that considers employees.”
