'DajeonghanBubu' Appears on SBS 'Curious Story Y'
Explains Allegations of Ticket Brokering, Sham Marriage, and Minor Employment
During Crew's Absence: "The Broadcast Should Air Well... We Just Need to Make Money"
Netizens Say "Still Suspicious" "Feels Unresolved"
[Asia Economy Reporter Nahana] The couple YouTubers 'Dajeonghan Bubu,' who have a 36-year age gap, have clarified various allegations including being a fake couple, running a ticket room, and employing minors.
On the 18th, 'Dajeonghan Bubu' appeared on SBS's 'Curious Story Y' to explain the suspicions that had arisen.
As this couple, who overcame their age difference, became a hot topic online through YouTube, netizens raised various suspicions. Netizens claiming to be acquaintances of the wife posted expos?s alleging that the wife had operated an illegal sex trade establishment called a ticket room and employed minors.
A whistleblower on 'Curious Story Y' also claimed that the two were once the owner and driver of an illegal sex trade establishment called a 'ticket room.' Female employees who claimed to have worked at the ticket room run by the couple appeared on the broadcast and said, "We were made to do ticket sales (illegal sex trade) even when we were minors. They just didn’t force us." They also referred to the husband of Dajeonghan Bubu as 'Tico Samchon' (Uncle Tico), saying he personally drove customers to their destinations.
However, Dajeonghan Bubu strongly denied the allegations of running a ticket room and employing minors, stating, "It was a tea room, but not a ticket room. We never connected employees with men. We don’t know anything about that."
The suspicions about the couple did not end there. Some accused them of being a 'fake couple' or having a 'sham marriage' for money, casting doubtful eyes.
On the broadcast, the couple actively explained, revealing hospital charts and saying, "A few years ago, we even went to a specialized hospital for in vitro fertilization to have a child." It was also revealed that their relationship was a common-law marriage, not a legal marriage.
At the end of the broadcast, a conversation between the two was revealed while the production team left the room. The wife told the husband, "We have to make 'Curious Story Y' look good. The reward is just that we make money. There will be bad comments for a while. I have to stay calm like me, but you listen to them. You are the problem."
Netizens who watched the broadcast still felt uneasy and responded negatively. On some articles and the couple’s YouTube account, netizens left comments such as "The ticket room operation allegations need further explanation," "It seems like more will be revealed," and "Are they really not running a ticket room? It feels unresolved."
