[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Six COVID-19 confirmed cases, including a person in their 60s who had a meal gathering with confirmed cases from other regions, have occurred in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
The Wonju City health authorities announced on the 18th, "One person in their 60s who was in contact with a confirmed case from Yeoju City, 40-year-old Mr. A who is an acquaintance of the confirmed case, a couple in their 50s, and a couple in their 40s have tested positive."
Among them, it was confirmed that five acquaintances of the confirmed cases, including Mr. A, had a meal gathering with a confirmed case from Yeoju City on the 12th.
The infection route has not yet been identified, and a screening clinic was installed at a middle school in Wonju City where Mr. A works as a cook, conducting mass testing on about 390 students and staff.
The city health authorities are currently investigating the movements and contacts of the confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, as of the 18th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Wonju City is 265, and the cumulative number in Gangwon Province has increased to 877.
