[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Superb AI, a specialized company in artificial intelligence (AI) data, was selected as an outstanding case company in the data, network, artificial intelligence (DNA), and Digital New Deal sectors, which the government is focusing on this year.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that at the DNA Outstanding Case Awards ceremony held on the 18th, a total of seven companies were selected and awarded, including one Minister of Science and ICT Commendation, three Korea Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) Commendations, and three Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency (NIA) Commendations.
First, Superb AI received the Minister’s Commendation in recognition of its contribution to building a high-quality "Data Dam" through its machine learning data platform "Suite," which is serviced domestically and internationally, as well as its data construction and quality management projects.
The NIPA Commendations were awarded to three companies: Korea Livestock Data, GreenPlus Co., Ltd., and VUNO Inc. Korea Livestock Data was recognized for its innovation in systematically supporting farm management and promoting digitalization of livestock farming through AI-based analysis of livestock activity and movement. As a result, antibiotic usage was reduced by up to 80%, and mortality rates decreased by up to one-third compared to previous levels.
GreenPlus contributed to improving crop productivity through the convergence of smart farm technologies in primary industries such as agriculture. VUNO was recognized for contributing to the improvement of public health by being selected as one of the top 100 promising AI companies leading the domestic AI market with rapid disease diagnosis using AI technology.
The NIA Commendations were awarded to Toss Lab, Mobigen, and Kukon. Toss Lab contributed to the transition to remote work for over 350 companies, including Nexen Tire and Boseong Group, during the COVID-19 era by building a non-face-to-face remote work infrastructure through its business collaboration tool called Jandi. Mobigen was recognized for expanding the value of data utilization by providing big data analysis services to major domestic companies such as SK Telecom, LG Uplus, and Samsung Electronics, improving the usability of big data collection and storage. Kukon was evaluated for its efforts in building the data industry infrastructure by providing a data hub platform that allows easy use of various data such as corporate information and payment data.
Jang Seok-young, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "I am pleased to confirm and reward the diverse and excellent achievements of companies in the Digital New Deal and DNA sectors through this awards ceremony. We will continue to discover companies with innovative achievements and help them grow into representative companies of the digital economy."
