[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Cosmecca Korea, a cosmetics research, development, and manufacturing (ODM) specialist company, is embarking on digital innovation based on the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) to proactively respond to the rapidly changing business environment.
Cosmecca Korea announced on the 18th that it has been selected for the "Chungbuk AI Convergence Regional Specialized Industry Contest Project," led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and carried out by Chungcheongbuk-do and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Innovation, to develop AI convergence technology solutions.
The Chungbuk AI Convergence Regional Specialized Industry Contest Project is a Korean New Deal initiative aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of regional specialized industries such as productivity and quality through AI adoption, providing AI algorithms worth approximately 300 million KRW per theme.
Cosmecca Korea was selected for a total of five theme projects and will receive support worth about 1.5 billion KRW. Based on big data collected until March next year, it will begin full-scale AI solution algorithm development starting in April.
The development areas include AI systems for new product development direction, AI systems for new product development prescriptions, AI systems for optimal compatibility conditions of auxiliary materials, AI systems for uniformity in color mixing quality, and AI systems for manufacturing condition optimization.
Imrae Jo, Chairman of Cosmecca Korea, stated, “We will achieve digital convergence innovation leading the global cosmetics market by combining Cosmecca Korea’s cosmetics development know-how with advanced AI technology,” adding, “Through this, we will realize products of excellent quality and maximize global customer satisfaction.”
