Korea Employers Federation: "Next Year's Economic Policy Should Be Promoted in a Business-Friendly Direction"

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) stated on the 17th regarding the Ministry of Economy and Finance's announcement of the '2021 Economic Policy Direction' that "We hope the government's policy stance next year will be actively pursued in a way that creates a business-friendly management environment."

On this day, KEF expressed concerns about the difficult situation, noting that our economy has suffered due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and that uncertainty for businesses has increased. KEF said, "Although major domestic and international institutions forecast a gradual recovery of our economy next year, uncertainties surrounding the business environment for our companies next year are expected to remain high as risk factors such as COVID-19 and global protectionist trends continue to constrain corporate outlooks."

Furthermore, KEF urged for the prompt incorporation of supplementary legislation reflecting the demands of the business community, expressing concern over recently passed corporate regulatory bills in the National Assembly. KEF emphasized, "The recently passed policies and legislation focused on corporate regulation will not only stifle corporate vitality but also act as obstacles to recovering our economy and driving future growth engines."
