- Completion of a complex marine leisure city with development of Marina and Waterfront Cultural Park, and supply of residential, office, and commercial facilities on Bandal Island, an artificial island in Siwha MTV
- Restoration of a 21km waterway route through the Siwha Lake waterway project... Construction of piers and auxiliary facilities at Ansancheon estuary, Bandal Island, and Daebudo
‘Marina Island,’ a lifestyle accommodation facility located at C8-5BL, Bandalseom, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, constructed by Angang Construction, is attracting attention. It is situated in the prime location of Bandalseom, the nation’s first artificial island, which is emerging as a marine leisure tourism hub. Bandalseom, where the complex is located, is undergoing accelerated development with projects such as the Siwha Lake waterway restoration, a luxury tourist hotel and high-end residences, and a large-scale waterfront cultural park, actively progressing into a marine leisure complex city encompassing marine, leisure, tourism, residential, and commercial functions.
Among these, the ‘Siwha Lake Waterway Restoration Project’ aims to restore the Siwha waterway, which was cut off by the construction of a seawall, after 26 years. A 21km section starting from the mouth of Ansancheon River, passing through Bandalseom, and extending to the old Bangameori dock in Daebudo will see the operation of 40-passenger tourist cruise ships starting next year, reopening the Siwha Lake waterway.
Several other major development projects are underway around Siwha Lake centered on Bandalseom. First, the world’s largest artificial surfing park, ‘Wave Park,’ has officially opened on Turtle Island in Siwha MTV, marking the beginning of the marine leisure city. To the southeast of the project site, the Shinsegae Property consortium is developing the ‘Hwaseong International Theme Park,’ a stay-type complex facility including a massive theme park with concepts such as Adventure World, Pacific Odyssey, Jurassic World, Brick & Toy Kingdom, as well as a hotel with 1,000 rooms and shopping spaces.
The nearby Banwol-Siwha National Industrial Complex is planned to be transformed into a low-carbon, eco-friendly industrial complex under the ‘Gyeonggi-do Type Industrial Complex Green New Deal’ project. Additionally, Kakao plans to invest 400 billion KRW to build a data center on Hanyang University ERICA Campus, and Seoul National University Siheung Campus will host a government-led ‘Campus Innovation Park,’ which is expected to attract outstanding talent.
Amid these developments, ‘Marina Island’ is located in the core area of Bandalseom in Siwha MTV, with Bandalseom Marina Port within walking distance and directly adjacent to the waterfront cultural park. The complex consists of 451 lifestyle accommodation units ranging from 17 to 45㎡ in exclusive area, and neighborhood living facilities, spanning from one basement floor to 28 floors above ground. The project is implemented by Korea Asset Trust.
As the origin of the word ‘marina’ means ‘beach promenade,’ Marina Island is expected to offer views of Siwha Lake and the West Sea with the waterfront cultural park located right in front of the complex. To maximize locational advantages, the interior of the complex features a waterfront-specialized design. All units include balconies and terraces (in some units), and amenities such as fitness centers and saunas are arranged to provide lake and ocean views.
Marina Island is accessible within approximately 30 minutes from Seoul. It is adjacent to Choji Station on Subway Line 4 and Wonsi Station on the Seohae Line, with travel times of about 30 minutes from Sadang Station and within an hour from Gangnam Station. The area boasts excellent regional transportation networks including MTV Coastal Road, Pyeongtaek-Siheung Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, Seohaean Expressway, and the Third Gyeongin Expressway, facilitating easy access nationwide. Operation and management are entrusted to Taekhan Comprehensive Management Co., Ltd.
The Marina Island sales offices are located at 59 Dongjak-daero, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, and near the site at 63 Gojan 2-gil, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.
