[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Pop artist Nancy Lang appeared on 'Radio Star' and shared about her 10-month marriage.

The MBC 'Radio Star' episode aired on the 16th was a special titled 'The World is a Wonderland,' featuring Um Young-soo (Um Yong-soo), Nancy Lang, Ham Yeon-ji, and George.

Previously, Nancy Lang registered her marriage in December 2017.

As soon as Nancy Lang's marriage news was revealed, her husband Wang Jin-jin's various criminal records came under scrutiny. Nancy Lang eventually decided to divorce in October of the following year, just 10 months after their marriage.

After a three-year lawsuit, she officially became unrelated to Wang Jin-jin last September.

Nancy Lang said, "Finally, after three years, I got divorced," adding, "Because the other party (my husband) kept resisting, a lawsuit that could have been done quickly took three years. It took three years to divorce after registering the marriage for just 10 minutes."

She also mentioned that the divorce lawsuit ended with the highest alimony in Korea of 50 million won, saying, "I am completely divorced. Many people around me congratulated me."

When told, "Your face looks better recently," Nancy Lang smiled and said, "Thanks to winning the divorce lawsuit 100%, it feels like a mental shackle has been released."

On that day, Nancy Lang confessed that the hardest question was, "Why did you get married when the whole nation opposed it?"

She recalled the difficult times when she was deceived and persuaded by her ex-husband's team, who tried to deceive her systematically.

Nancy Lang said, "He didn't deceive me alone. There were three teams in the organization, each with 3 to 5 members, and everyone had assigned roles."

She explained, "My ex-husband kept urging and persuading me to register the marriage first. He said his family was all in Macau, so I believed that. I wanted to have a wedding ceremony and then register the marriage, but I was persuaded and ended up registering the marriage."

She continued, "At that time, everyone congratulated us. But then, through a media outlet, all the bad personal information about my ex-husband that I didn't even know came out."

She added, "Actually, not only me but professors, gallery directors, company CEOs, and everyone else were deceived. Business with my ex-husband was ongoing. Since experienced and smart people were deceived, after the news broke out, netizens told me to get a divorce, but it wasn't easy to divorce right after registering the marriage."

She also shared, "I am an only daughter, my mother passed away battling cancer, and my father’s whereabouts are unknown. He abandoned my sick mother and me. With such a painful family background, I worked in broadcasting as the head of the family to make a living."

Nancy Lang summarized her 10-month marriage, which started without a typical wedding ceremony or wedding photoshoot, as "an unfortunate all-in-one set where I experienced all the bad things."

She especially said, "The biggest was the threat of video distribution. It was mentally very hard. I stayed at a close sister’s house for two and a half months to hide."

Although the divorce was completed perfectly, she said she is still repaying the debt worth hundreds of millions of won that she took on. She said, "I took on private loan debt. It increased from 800 million won to 900 million won, and the interest alone is 6 million won per month," adding, "I am still repaying it like that. It has been three years now."

When actress Kim Hye-sun, an acquaintance, advised Nancy Lang, "If it’s really hard, file for bankruptcy," Nancy Lang said she replied, "I will solve it myself." She stated, "The response to my work is good, and I want to become an international artist who has a positive influence, so I want to take responsibility for this part well. I want to earn well and repay it perfectly."

Also, Nancy Lang gave advice to women preparing for marriage, emphasizing a must-have checklist before marriage. She said, "Have a happy wedding, but it would be good to live together for at least 2 to 3 years before registering the marriage," and stressed, "Be sure to check family relation certificates, health checkup results, financial institution documents, and so on in advance."

She especially cheered for Sayuri, who recently became a voluntary single mother, saying, "You are truly an amazing woman. You’re cool."
