Temporary Screening Clinics Operate Until the 3rd of Next Month ... Testing Hours: Weekdays 9 AM to 6 PM, Weekends 9 AM to 1 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “On my way home from work, I saw a temporary screening clinic set up and came to get tested. I don’t have any specific symptoms, but since there are many asymptomatic carriers these days, I stopped by wondering if I might be infected.”
This is what Mr. Lee (51) said in front of the temporary screening clinic in Jungnang-gu.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is operating temporary screening clinics at Myeonmok Station Plaza and Mangu Station Park until the 3rd of next month.
To proactively respond to the winter surge of COVID-19, the district installed two temporary screening clinics near subway stations with high foot traffic to allow residents to get tested.
The clinics operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends and holidays, enabling residents who find it difficult to get tested on weekdays to receive testing.
The testing is free of charge, and anonymous testing is available upon request.
The temporary screening clinics use nasopharyngeal swab PCR tests, where a swab is inserted into the nose to collect a specimen for testing.
To ensure smooth operation of the temporary screening clinics, the district increased staffing to a total of 12 personnel, including 3 medical staff and 3 administrative staff per clinic, and implemented thorough disinfection at each site to ensure the safety of residents undergoing testing.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “Through the additional operation of these temporary screening clinics, we expect to identify asymptomatic carriers early. In addition to these clinics, we have extended the operating hours of Jungnang-gu’s screening clinics until 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends. If you suspect you might have COVID-19, please be sure to get a free test.”
Meanwhile, over the two days of the 14th and 15th, a total of 832 people (511 at Myeonmok Station Plaza and 321 at Mangu Station Park) were tested at the temporary screening clinics, greatly assisting residents who find it difficult to visit the district’s screening clinics.
