[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] 11st has partnered with the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Post to launch a new delivery service based on post office parcel delivery early next year.
On the 16th, 11st held a signing ceremony at the Korea Post headquarters in Sejong City and announced that the two companies signed a strategic business agreement to expand cooperation services between distribution and logistics and support small business owners.
11st will provide fulfillment services including product receipt, storage, shipment, returns, and inventory management through the Korea Post Daejeon Postal Logistics Center. Utilizing the approximately 3,800-pyeong (about 12,570 m²) Daejeon Postal Logistics Center, they plan to offer a 24-hour (midnight) cutoff same-day shipping service, allowing customers to receive products ordered before midnight the next day. As early as the first quarter of next year, nationwide next-day delivery will be possible for products ordered on 11st within 24 hours on the same day.
Currently, 11st operates a separate “Same-day Shipping” tab where sellers set order cutoff times between 3 PM and 8 PM daily and ship products on the same day. For some volumes, 11st provides fulfillment services through its own logistics center located in Paju, shipping orders placed by 5 PM and 8 PM on the same day.
Through this collaboration, 11st expects to offer customers an improved delivery service with next-day arrival after ordering, while 11st sellers will benefit from reliable Korea Post fulfillment services, reducing logistics costs and increasing sales due to extended cutoff times.
Additionally, 11st plans to introduce the “Win-Win Parcel” service, allowing startups, SOHO sellers, and other small business owners who find it difficult to contract parcel delivery for small volumes to conveniently use Korea Post parcel delivery at reasonable prices. The Win-Win Parcel service is designed for small business owners who initially have low sales volumes and must use parcel services at relatively high rates, enabling them to use Korea Post parcel delivery at affordable costs. Sellers can easily apply through 11st’s seller-exclusive site, Seller Office, and use the parcel service regardless of shipment volume. For those sending more than 10 packages per day, Korea Post also offers direct pickup services.
11st and Korea Post will build an organic cooperation system based on Korea Post’s nationwide delivery infrastructure extending to towns and villages, aiming to improve parcel service quality experienced by customers and continuously expand support projects to revitalize small business owners exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Park Jong-seok, head of Korea Post, said, “We hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to foster a healthy parcel culture in the e-commerce market and strengthen the online sales capabilities of local small business owners such as startups.”
Lee Sang-ho, CEO of 11st, stated, “With a solid logistics network, the cooperation with Korea Post, which provides reliable parcel services nationwide, will make the new delivery service introduced to 11st customers a growth engine for 11st in the new year.”
