[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Woojin B&G announced on the 16th that it won the Excellence Award in the Livestock Materials category at the 2020 Organic and Antibiotic-Free Livestock Awards.
The Organic and Antibiotic-Free Livestock Awards is an event that recognizes outstanding farms and companies practicing eco-friendly livestock farming to promote enthusiasm for sustainable livestock industry development. It was hosted by the Korea Organic Livestock Association. This year, the award ceremony was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The award targets include certified organic and antibiotic-free livestock farms, certified handlers of organic and antibiotic-free livestock products, certified organic processed food companies, certified non-edible organic processed product companies, and companies producing livestock materials with no detection of antibiotics or pesticide residues. The award categories were divided into large livestock (Hanwoo, dairy), medium livestock (pigs, dairy goats, heukyeomso), small livestock (layers, broilers, ducks), livestock product distribution, and livestock materials.
The selection of awardees was conducted through thorough verification. This included document reviews proving expertise such as sales performance, certificates, test reports, licenses, and training completion certificates, as well as assessments of community contribution, on-site inspections of workplaces, and facility evaluations.
Kang Seokjin, CEO of Woojin B&G, said, “We are pleased to receive the Excellence Award at the Organic and Antibiotic-Free Livestock Awards, and we will continue to devote ourselves to developing eco-friendly antibiotic alternatives and producing high-quality products.”
Woojin B&G was founded in 1977. This year marks its 43rd anniversary as a specialized company in manufacturing and selling veterinary and human raw material pharmaceuticals. It was designated as a Quality Management Excellent Company (KVGMP) in 1996. In 2009, it completed the construction of an internationally standardized GMP injection factory and finished the Australian government APVMA inspection in 2019. It received the 'Quarantine Headquarters Director Award' as an excellent company in the veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing sector’s self-inspection. In 2020, it grew into a global veterinary pharmaceutical company by receiving the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Commendation for Export Merit hosted by the Korea Animal Pharmaceuticals Association.
