[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jayjun Cosmetic announced on the 16th that it has acquired 100% of the shares of Sensible, a media commerce specialized company based on SNS, and incorporated it as a subsidiary. The total acquisition amount is 6.5 billion KRW.
Sensible is a company specializing in marketing and commerce based on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. In its first year of establishment in 2018, it started with sales of 660 million KRW and achieved sales of 4 billion KRW in 2019. This year, it recorded sales of 7 billion KRW up to September, showing a steep sales growth trend. Profitability is also favorable, with an operating profit of 1.65 billion KRW up to September this year, resulting in an operating profit margin of 23.6%.
A Jayjun official said, “Sensible operates a wide range of customized channels based on various social media platforms, covering interests from beauty and fashion to travel, gourmet food, plastic surgery, and movies, and has more than 30 million followers.”
He added, “With the spread of COVID-19, untact consumption has expanded, activating SNS-based media commerce, and Sensible is recording rapid growth. It is a company that can continue to grow by providing an optimized marketing/commerce platform that meets not only consumer trends but also corporate needs simultaneously.”
Jayjun expects great synergy after the acquisition because the followers of the power channels operated by Sensible overlap with Jayjun’s main customer base. Through the acquisition of Sensible, Jayjun plans to strengthen its SNS marketing capabilities and maximize results not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets.
