[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 15th that it donated 10,000 health masks and 72 boxes of ramen (2,880 packs) to the Geumcheon Nuri Comprehensive Social Welfare Center for foreign workers and multicultural families in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
This donation was made to help prevent infections among vulnerable medical groups such as foreign workers and multicultural families who are in poor working conditions and medical blind spots due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Lee Myung-hwan, an outside director of GKL who participated in the delivery ceremony, said, "I hope foreign workers who are struggling in a foreign country can feel the warm affection (jeong) of Koreans."
Earlier, in September 2018, GKL signed a business agreement with Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, to realize social value and has been conducting the "Health Safety Net Support Project" for the health of foreign residents in medical welfare blind spots, including vaccination, medical support counseling, providing information on health insurance and medical mutual aid associations, and emergency medical expense support.
