[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] On the 15th, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it held a consignment operation agreement ceremony for the Gwangsan-gu Integrated Addiction Management Support Center with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Nambu University at the Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center.
This agreement follows the expiration of the private consignment period. Gwangsan-gu conducted a public recruitment and a review by the screening committee, ultimately selecting the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Nambu University as the private consignment institution for the center from 2021 to 2025.
According to relevant ordinances of Gwangsan-gu, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Nambu University will promote projects for the prevention and management of addictions such as alcohol, internet-smartphone, gambling, nicotine, and drugs, as well as projects for awareness and environmental improvement of addiction diseases.
Professor Choi Bong-sil of the Department of Nursing at Nambu University said, “We will do our best to realize the mental health welfare of Gwangsan-gu residents by making the most of local resources.”
