[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] The final blueprint for the Wungsang Central Park in Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, which will be actively promoted starting next year, has been unveiled.
Yangsan City announced on the 14th that it will begin the Wungsang Central Park development project, which will serve as a resting space for local residents, starting next year.
On the 10th, the city held the final report meeting for the detailed design service of the development project to prepare a concrete project plan. The meeting was attended by Yangsan Mayor Kim Il-gwon, public officials, and design service representatives.
The park is a project to create various sports and rest facilities, including a gymnasium with about 2,300 seats and a lawn plaza, on a 100,000㎡ sports park site around Wungsang Library, with a total project cost of 55.5 billion KRW.
In particular, the gymnasium will be constructed with enhanced seismic performance to be used as a shelter facility for residents in case of disasters.
Yangsan Mayor Kim Il-gwon said, “I hope this becomes a place of communication where citizens in eastern Yangsan can unite and form public opinion,” adding, “I hope the design pays close attention to details to ensure it is a space considerate of people with disabilities.”
The project will undergo the Gyeongnam Province construction technology review and Public Procurement Service bidding request around March next year, with construction starting in the first half of next year. Completion is scheduled for December 2023.
